Independence sparks reinvention.
When Solventum spun out of 3M in April 2024, the company gained more than independence — it gained an opportunity to rethink how it connects with healthcare professionals. As a Fortune 500 healthcare innovator, Solventum enables better, smarter, and safer healthcare to improve lives. That same spirit of innovation now extends to how healthcare professionals learn.
For Solventum customers, education is a top priority. Many healthcare professionals find education opportunities on solventum.com to advance their expertise – many offer continuing education (CE) credits to maintain professional credentials.
“We’re striving to provide customer education with the purpose of building trust and credibility with our customers,” says Brian Whipple, Marketing Technology – Customer Education at Solventum. “Education is one of the ways we support healthcare professionals, helping them solve problems faster and get back to what matters most: their patients.”
Solventum’s goal was to not have healthcare professionals redirected to a standalone learning management system, disconnected from the company’s digital experience and context. Giving nurses and lab techs a personalized experience with unique learning catalogs is important and reflective of Solventum’s mission and customers needs.
“Adobe Learning Manager helps us present information to specific customers in a job role, reduce friction, and get content to them as quickly as possible.”

Seamless connections through integration.
Solventum selected Adobe Learning Manager integrated with Adobe Experience Manager Sites. “The integration between Adobe Learning Manager and Adobe Experience Manager Sites was a key factor in our selection criteria,” says Whipple. “It lets us surface learning without duplicate authoring.”
Before, course authors had to manually author experience fragments or components in Experience Manager Sites to publish them on solventum.com and then re-enter every detail again for each course. This duplication was time consuming and often introduced inconsistencies between systems.
The headless model changes that completely. Authors simply paste a course ID into an Experience Manager Sites component and click save, and the right information flows directly from Adobe Learning Manager. It also makes learning discoverable by users before they ever log in. For example, a dentist exploring a product page can immediately see a course related to best practices. Instead of leaving the site or digging through filters, they can enroll instantly, learn at their own pace, and apply the knowledge to patient care.
For Solventum, this approach has already reduced authoring time by half, freeing up resources to support global expansion. About 20,000 customer learners have been migrated to the platform, and a worldwide rollout has been completed across Solventum’s medical-surgical and dental businesses. A critical part of this expansion is localization. Solventum can translate a single learning asset into multiple languages so healthcare professionals worldwide access the same quality content in their context. To date, Solventum has more than 300 courses available across 40 locales.
Solventum teams are also spending less time on repetitive trainings and more time on complex topics that need their expertise.
Personalization in practice.
What distinguishes the new learning experience is relevance. Learners see content filtered by business unit, country, and language, with further refinements planned.
“Adobe Learning Manager helps us present information to specific customers, reduce friction, and get content to them as quickly as possible,” he says. Many of the courses offer CE credits, which are tied to learner accounts for easy download and submission.
Healthcare professionals can now move from exploring a device on the company website to a related course in just a few clicks encountering relevant learning opportunities at the moment of interest. As a result, the completion rate for learners beginning a new course is 70%.
Since launch, more than 3,000 healthcare professionals have engaged with Solventum’s new learning experience, logging over 3,000 course enrollments and nearly 1,700 completions — proof that personalization makes education both accessible and effective.
“When healthcare professionals can skip the hassle and get straight to the training they need, they can put new skills to work right away,” says Whipple. “That means their day runs smoother, and patients see the benefit too.”
Building lasting relationships.
Solventum is designing the experience so that every step naturally leads to the next. A clinician who attends a webinar might receive a thank you email with a related on-demand course. Completing that course can unlock a specialty-specific path or prompt an invitation to a live event. This creates a continuous loop of learning opportunities that adapts to each clinician’s needs and keeps them engaged over time.
As the rollout progresses, dashboards track completions and popular courses. With visibility into this data, Solventum can develop new offerings and related content that resonates.
Next steps include using the builtin webhooks to send course completion data directly into Solventum’s marketing automation platform for targeted outreach — saving time versus building a custom application programming interface.
“Customer education can have an impact at many stages along the customer journey,” says Whipple. “With Adobe, we’re making that impact seamless.”
A continuous learning journey.
The shift to Adobe Learning Manager and Experience Manager Sites has transformed both authoring and delivery, but the benefits extend behind the scenes as well. Administrators find Adobe Learning Manager easy to navigate, and its AI assistant helps them get answers quickly.
But the impact is even greater in the experience itself: healthcare professionals now discover education in the flow of their work, gain credits that advance their careers, and trust Solventum as a partner committed to their success. The headless integration ensures education is no longer a separate destination but a connected, tailored journey that helps healthcare professionals remain sharp, efficient, and committed to their patients.
“We see education as an ongoing journey, not a one-time event,” says Whipple. “By connecting data, personalization, and clinical expertise, we’re building a learning ecosystem that will grow alongside our customers.”
