Cox Enterprises unites its brands with one creative identity using Adobe Express.
12-02-2025
Cox Enterprises was founded by journalists who believed in the power of a good story. A century later, that same spirit of curiosity drives the company that touches nearly every part of modern life — from broadband and automotive to cleantech, sustainable agriculture, and media. But as Cox grew, so did its need for consistency. With brands that span the globe and dozens of internal teams producing content daily, keeping one cohesive visual identity became its biggest creative challenge. That’s where Ideabar, Cox’s in-house agency, stepped in to rewrite how storytelling happens at scale.
With a mid-sized design team supporting hundreds of internal partners, the team needed a faster, scalable way to produce on-brand content — without compromising quality or creativity.
“Even small changes, like resizing a banner or updating a headline, meant another request to the design team,” says Ashley Race, senior graphic designer at Cox Ideabar. “We wanted to spend less time on production and more time on ideas.”

Enterprise storytelling at scale.
Their answer: Adobe Express, a platform that lets teams build brand-approved templates, share assets instantly, and give non-designers the confidence to create. The team identified efficiencies across numerous design requests by leveraging Adobe Express, freeing up our production designers to focus on additional high-impact campaigns.
“Adobe Express gave us a framework to revitalize how we work,” says James Diamond, senior project manager with the Ideabar team, which has created 20-plus brands for client partners and 100-plus templates within Adobe Express. “It bridges the skills gap between creative and non-creative teams so everyone can tell Cox’s story consistently and beautifully.”
Design for everyone.
Working with Adobe Express, Ideabar built a library of brand templates connected to Adobe Creative Cloud Libraries, so assets are always aligned and up to date across Adobe Creative Cloud apps.
“Now, when a partner needs a program ad or event flyer, they can open a template, swap in new photos and copy, and publish it instantly,” Race says.
The result is a system that makes creativity accessible to everyone while maintaining Cox’s signature look and feel. Since introducing Adobe Express, Cox’s creative workflow has become faster, more consistent, and more collaborative. Non-designers now produce professional-quality assets in minutes, while designers focus on campaign strategy and brand storytelling.
“Adobe Express templates let people run with their ideas while keeping the brand tight,” Race says. “It’s that perfect middle ground — creative freedom with just enough guardrails.”
Looking ahead.
Today, hundreds of employees use Adobe Express across divisions — from HR to marketing to internal communications. The Ideabar team continues to expand adoption and explore how AI-powered features can simplify production while amplifying creativity.
“With Adobe Express streamlining our production, we can focus on what’s next,” Race says. “It keeps us experimenting, evolving, and telling our story in new ways.”
For a company built on curiosity and innovation, that’s exactly the kind of creative freedom that fuels what’s next.
