Adobe Commerce announces advanced BOPIS capabilities

With increasing customer demand for advanced omnichannel fulfillment options and flexibility, offering buy online pick up in store (BOPIS) to customers has become crucial for retailers. BOPIS allows customers to purchase online and pick up their order at a physical store location that is convenient for them. This type of omnichannel fulfillment is far from new, with retailers having invested heavily over the last half-decade in both BOPIS and curbside pickup.

BOPIS fulfillment sales revenue more than doubled in 2020 in the US, according to eMarketer. Researchers expect double-digit growth rates in BOPIS revenue through 2024. Customer demand for this type of omnichannel fulfillment continues to grow, with MarketScale estimating BOPIS sales will grow to $141 billion by 2024.

API Mesh for Adobe Developer App Builder (beta program)

Adobe is pleased to announce the beta program for API Mesh with Adobe Commerce. The API Mesh helps customers easily bring together multiple sources of data and microservices from across their organization into a single unified layer. Customers can integrate API for content, assets, search, shipping, inventory, and other applications with their commerce API to deliver rich experiences to shoppers.

For developers, adding API and data sources to the API Mesh can be done through simple configurations. Additionally, the API Mesh helps developers monitor, secure, and scale their API globally while providing API extensibility in a low-code or no-code environment.
