Adobe leverages synthetic data to deliver document intelligence at scale with NVIDIA.

The Adobe Document Cloud team is focused on helping customers work smarter through AI that is useful, reliable and built with care. As AI continues to evolve, our goal is to advance document intelligence in ways that protect user trust and deliver meaningful value.
Building on this work, Adobe has collaborated with NVIDIA to explore new methods for generating high-quality synthetic data that strengthen model development. Early pilots using NVIDIA NeMo Data Designer and NVIDIA NeMo Safe Synthesizer technologies demonstrated how synthetic datasets can help to assess model behaviour across diverse document types while maintaining high standards for data quality and evaluation. These efforts inform our ongoing approach to building reliable, well-evaluated AI systems.
Synthetic Data Generation (SDG) allows Adobe teams to safely test and refine AI systems while protecting customer content. Within Adobe Acrobat, synthetic data helps evaluate how models understand document structure, relationships among documents and conversation intent. This work supports experiences that respond naturally and improve responsibly over time.
Synthetic data also supports Adobe’s research on small language models (SLMs), enabling efficient and responsive AI features that bring capabilities closer to customers through lightweight, on-device experiences. By integrating synthetic data generated using NeMo Data Designer to supplement sparsely populated datasets into our training and evaluation processes, Adobe continues to advance AI experiences that are powerful with upwards of 10% improvements in performance, responsible and aligned with Adobe’s focus on transparency and trust.
