Dropshipping – Read Our Expert Articles

Dropshipping is a popular eCommerce sales method that enables business-owners to sell products to an audience without ever owning the stock they’re selling. But how do you get started and what’s it all about? Explore the expert articles on our dropshipping hub page.

Quick definition and key challenges

When a customer purchases products from a dropshipping store, the items are stored, packaged and delivered by a third-party wholesaler. Getting started with dropshipping is relatively easy and the business model offers less risk and upfront investment for those wanting to open their own dropshipping service.

How exactly does dropshipping work?

Dropshipping connects business owners and home-based entrepreneurs with wholesalers and retailers across the globe – building a relationship in which both benefit from sales to interested customers.

Dropshipping involves three parties:

  1. You (the seller)
  2. Wholesaler (the product supplier)
  3. Customer (product buyer)

The seller advertises the wholesaler’s products on their own website. When a customer places an order, the order goes directly to the wholesaler. They then fulfil the order, delivering it to the customer. The sale price is then shared between both the seller and the wholesaler.
