As a leading reinsurer, Hannover Re serves a broad spectrum of clients and partners across more than 150 countries. The company provides financial stability in times of uncertainty, helping to stabilize markets when they face complex challenges, from natural catastrophes to economic disruption.
To support those moments, Hannover Re is modernizing document workflows and scaling AI-powered tools across the organization.
As part of its digital initiatives, Hannover Re uses Adobe Acrobat Studio, enhanced by Acrobat AI Assistant, to help employees navigate information-heavy workflows more efficiently — surfacing insights faster and reducing the time spent searching through documents.
Acrobat Studio also includes Acrobat Pro, Acrobat AI Assistant and PDF Spaces, and Adobe Express Premium, which help the team produce on-brand derivative assets in a collaborative space. This creates a more connected workflow — from gathering information to generating insights to supporting downstream content creation. The tools help streamline administrative tasks and accelerate review processes, providing teams with additional time to focus on complex decision-making.
For Senior System Engineer Jan-Niklas Schilling, the impact is visible in everyday work across the business.
“For us, the AI Assistant isn’t about replacing expertise — it’s about streamlining how we access information,” says Schilling. “The goal is to provide our teams with better document tools so they can reach the right insights faster.”
Complex workflows made simple with conversational AI.
Hannover Re is rolling out Acrobat Studio across the enterprise, giving employees — from underwriting and operations to audit and communications — access to a shared, intelligent workspace capable of supporting knowledge workers of the future.
That shift is changing how work gets done.
Instead of manually reviewing documents or tracking changes across multiple versions, teams can now interact with files using simple, conversational prompts. With Acrobat AI Assistant, employees can quickly compare documents, identify key updates, and generate summaries to surface the information they need — without slowing down their workflow.
PDF Spaces adds another layer of clarity, giving teams a single, reliable place to manage documents and reducing version confusion that often slows decision-making.
For instance, Hannover Re employees can now compare complex documents and track specific changes and updates. They use conversational prompts to surface insights and generate instant AI summaries of PDF documents to access relevant information more quickly.
Just as importantly, every insight is traceable. AI-generated responses include references back to original documents, ensuring employees can verify information and maintain the high standards of accuracy required in reinsurance. This also supports internal requirements for transparency, auditability, and governance in a highly regulated environment.
“The AI Assistant isn't about replacing expertise — it's about streamlining how we access information. The goal is to provide our teams with better document tools so they can reach the right insights faster.”

Creative empowerment with Adobe Express.
Beyond document workflows, Hannover Re is also expanding its toolkit to provide employees with more versatile ways to create and share content.
With Adobe Express available within Acrobat Studio, teams have access to standardized templates and brand-approved design tools, making it easier to produce high-quality, brand-consistent documents or other materials without relying on specialized design support.
That means employees can produce on-brand content faster and more independently, whether they’re creating event assets or internal communications. Using the power of generative AI within Acrobat Studio, teams can accelerate the creative process using preapproved assets, helping them get started quickly and spend more time refining ideas rather than building from scratch.
For a global organization operating across more than 150 markets, even small efficiencies add up. With translation capabilities built into Adobe Express, teams can adapt content into multiple languages while maintaining design consistency — ensuring every output meets the same standard, regardless of where it’s created.
Scaling for the future.
The Hannover Re rollout of Acrobat Studio is just the beginning.
As it continues to evolve its digital environment, the company is expanding these capabilities across more business units. It is deepening adoption of Acrobat AI Assistant and extending the use of Adobe Express templates to drive greater consistency and collaboration.
The goal is not just efficiency, but a new way of working where employees can move faster, collaborate more effectively, and make better decisions with confidence.
