Erik Crawford, a strategic advocate for leveraging Adobe Learning Manager, oversees a team of product specialists dedicated to providing training, product demonstrations, and hands-on assistance. “To truly support our customers, we need to be experts not just in our products, but in the unique challenges our clients face — especially in the Public Sector,” says Crawford. “That starts with making sure our team has the tools and knowledge they need to stay ahead of technology and learning so that we can properly educate our customers and partners in this rapidly evolving industry.”
Internal training programs are a cornerstone of Carahsoft’s customer support, equipping team members with in-depth knowledge of the company’s extensive vendor portfolio, their products, and the unique needs of Government clients. According to Mikayla Miller, training lead for Carahsoft Center for Team Training and Coaching Excellence, learning has always been central to Carahsoft’s culture. With multiple business units each delivering and tracking training independently, it became clear that a unified learning management system (LMS) was essential to support scalable growth and ensure consistency across the organization.
“As a strategic Adobe partner, we understood the capabilities of Adobe Learning Manager,” says Miller. “Putting it into practice within our learning environment gave us deeper, hands-on experience. We’ve become true subject matter experts, which now shapes how we guide our Government customers through implementing their own learning programs.”
One hub for company-wide learning
Early learning programs at Carahsoft are focused on building a strong foundation through weekly introductory sessions and assessments. While initial reporting and engagement tools were limited, these efforts laid the groundwork for more robust learning experiences.
With the introduction of Adobe Learning Manager, the focus transitioned from individual initiatives to a cohesive and forward-thinking learning strategy. The Adobe LMS now serves as a centralized hub, with over 5,600 modules across 952 courses. Team members can easily access mandatory training for onboarding and compliance, as well as optional courses designed to enhance job performance.
Miller and her colleagues set up live, on-demand, and hybrid training courses that incorporate a wide variety of engaging content, including quizzes, videos, PDFs, and web content. Trainers assign pre-class videos or post-class readings and then invite learners into a live classroom on the same platform through integrations with Adobe Connect, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams. Adobe Learning Manager allows Carahsoft to record and host trainings so they can be rewatched on demand.

In-depth reporting capabilities provide significant value by giving trainers clear insights into learner behavior, such as which courses are being taken, how content is being consumed, and most importantly, which trainings are not being completed. This data empowers Miller and her colleagues to identify which optional courses resonate the most with Carahsoft team members, while also tracking compliance for mandatory courses. By pairing the strengths of an in-person approach with the flexibility and data-driven insights of Adobe Learning Manager, Carahsoft has created a more robust, scalable, and effective training program.

Growing engagement with unique learning paths
Prior to implementing Adobe Learning Manager, all training was delivered live at scheduled times with designated trainers. There has been a significant increase in the number of available courses, as content can now be accessed on-demand, assigned as needed, and revisited at any time — allowing for greater scalability, consistency, and learner capability.
Having a centralized location for training content allows Miller and her colleagues to better promote self-enrollment while also using data to continuously improve course options — both contributing to an impressive 96% growth in registered users over the past four years. Another key driver of this growth is the introduction of 35 tailored learning paths, which guide learners toward the courses most aligned with their goals.
“Increasing our enrollments and completion rates while delivering a greater variety of cohesive, consistent trainings is important to us,” says Miller. “We’re empowering team members to learn more, which results in better informed and more thoughtful support for our customers.”
All new team members at Carahsoft begin with a two-week bootcamp. During the first week, everyone follows the same learning path covering general resources, tools, and best practices. In the second week, sales representatives participate in a specialized sales learning path focused on building sales skills. This standardized approach ensures a more consistent experience across the company. By incorporating pre-recorded video, virtual courses, pre-class assignments, and post-class supplemental activities, Carahsoft has reduced its reliance on in-person or live instruction. As a result, the number of courses in week one bootcamp grew from seven to 19, while continuing to support knowledge adoption.
As Adobe Learning Manager continues to gain popularity, more teams are partnering with the Carahsoft Center for Team Training and Coaching Excellence to create their own unique learning paths and custom catalogs. The marketing team, for example, has developed a five-part learning series that covers topics from introductory courses to advanced skill levels. Carahsoft added 200 trainings in the past year, some of which boast hundreds of enrollments with near-perfect completion rates.
